Shelter House is inviting you to get to know the organization at its first ever Block Party.
It’s closing down George Street for the free event Saturday from noon to 4.
Along with entertainment and food, Development Officer Takwana Nhau says it will showcase some of the programming it’s implemented since Gary Mack took over as Executive Director in March. She adds it’s also an opportunity to clear up negative perceptions of Shelter House, its residents, and the area.
Nhau says Shelter House is looking to make the Block Party an annual event.
