Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the region.
It’s expected to hit Thunder Bay, McQuaig Lake, Johnson Lake, Loch Lomond, Ward Lake and Marie Louise Lake.
There’s the possibility of large hail as well which can lead to damaged property and injuries.
Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year.
“Persons in or near this area should be on the lookout for adverse weather conditions and take necessary safety precautions.” is what’s stated on Environment Canada’s website.
