The Lakehead Public School Board is ecstatic that elementary teachers are a step closer to labour peace with the province.
The Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario reached a tentative contract agreement in their dispute with the Wynne government and the Ontario School Boards Association.
Board spokesperson David Wright calls it good news all around. He says with teachers agreeing to halt their job action, students can now enjoy the entire school experience.
Wright says he hopes the rest of the support staff in the system can also reach a deal so the labour distractions can be put to rest.
