A southern Ontario resident is facing charges after a police investigation in Thunder Bay.
Officers with Thunder Bay’s city police identified a suspect involved in the investigation, and they were located and arrested on Wednesday.
During the investigation, officers seized roughly 2.3 kilograms of suspected cocaine, close to 700 grams of methamphetamine and more than 500 hydromorphone tablets as well as $19,000 cash.
The estimated street value of the illegal drugs is more than $200,000.
The accused, a 29-year-old from Scarborough, is facing the following charges:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine)
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking (methamphetamine)
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking (opioid)
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
The accused remains in custody with a future court date.
