Rotary Celebrates Day For Peace

Thunder Bay will be marking the International Day for Peace.

Rotarians are gathering at 11:30 with others near their Peace Pole at the Marina, at Tai Chi Park.

Spokesperson Warren Philp says it’s a day to focus on world peace, noting the Rotary Peace Pole on Saul Laskin Drive reads “May Peace Prevail on Earth” in different languages, including English, French, and Ojibway.

He notes it’s one of 250,000 poles stationed in 180 countries around the world, which “serve as a constant reminder for us to visualize and work towards a world of peace.”
