One councillor will be pushing for a pair of road construction projects to get going in 2021.
Westfort Ward Councillor Kristen Oliver stresses there’s long overdue work involving a portion of Frederica Street and on Leland Avenue South between Arthur and Walsh Streets.
“Frederica street has deteriorated so badly and has been deferred for way too long, it needs to get done,” says Oliver. “When it comes to Leland Avenue, because there are large medians in the middle it’s a little more of a complex project. Over the last couple of years the city has been planning for this, getting the crescents and side streets ready to get the job done.”
When asked how much each project will cost to get done, Oliver quoted the Frederica project at $250,000 and the Leland Avenue initiative at $1 million. She notes the Leland project involves water infrastructure and how officials are going to navigate around the medians on the road.
