Local teacher’s unions have not indicated what, if anything, they plan to do in the new year. All three main teachers’ unions are in a legal strike position.
Kenora-Rainy River MPP Greg Rickford says their goal remains the same. “Teachers are the heart and soul of our community and we are encouraging talks to restart and hopefully our kids will stay in school in the new year.”
The teachers have been without a contract since the last one expired on August 31st, 2019.
