The Regional Food Distribution Association (RFDA) is partnering with Bay Village Coffee to support fundraising efforts for the ongoing building expansion at the RFDA.
The organizations have launched a new fundraiser named Mugs and Masterpieces, which was an idea that Bay Village Coffee Owner Alan Forbes approached the RFDA with.
Five local artists are being highlighted through the initiative.
“Their generosity and talent are deeply appreciated. We sincerely thank them for sharing their passion and creativity in support of this initiative,” said Building Hope Campaign Vice-Chair Mark Gleeson.
“As the saying goes, ‘it takes a village to raise a child.’ This sentiment rings especially true in our region, where food insecurity remains a pressing concern, affecting one in five individuals.”
Each artist has made a work of art that can be won through a draw.
Each week, a different artist is highlighted.
At the coffee shop, you can make donations to enter the draw, including:
- $10 – Entry ballot for one of the art pieces and a card featuring a print of the art you entered to win
- $25 – Entry ballot, card, and a complimentary regular coffee
- $50 – Entry ballot, card, complimentary specialty beverage
Bay Village Coffee is also accepting smaller donations towards the fundraiser.
The local artists who have supplied a piece for the fundraiser include:
- Bilijana Baker
- Steve Gerow
- Mary Porter
- Dick Spooner
- David Winters
The campaign got underway on Monday and is running through October 17.
The draw for all of the art is taking place on the final day of the initiative.
The funds are supporting the RFDA’s Building Hope Campaign.
