Local food banks are getting 300 meals to help those struggling in our community.
The province’s largest public-sector union teamed up with the Beacon Restaurant to make the donation to the Regional Food Distribution Association.
The RFDA has said it’s facing increased demand due to COVID-19.
Ontario Public Service Employees Union Local 720 says they wanted to both support local businesses by paying for the meals, and help people who rely on food banks.
