Red River Councillor Hopes To Return In March

There’s been one less member around the Thunder Bay council table as of late, but he plans to come back soon.

In a memo shared Monday night, Red River’s Brian McKinnon revealed he has been away for personal reasons and is hopeful to return to his Council duties in March.

McKinnon also stated that he doesn’t take this time away lightly and will return to his duties when he’s ready to do so.

Section 259 of the Municipal Act allows for Members of Council to take a leave from their duties for up to 3 months with no penalty.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
