Red Lake Orders Evacuation

The Municipality of Red Lake is ordering all residents to evacuate as soon as possible due to a forest fire.

The municipality says the five-hectare fire now poses a risk for all community members, particularly those who are vulnerable. It’s not under control, and is located around two kilometres north of the community of Madsen near Red Lake.

Temporary shelters have been set up in Dryden. Provincial Police have also closed Highway 618 at Madsen because of the fire.
