Elementary school teachers with the Lakehead Public School Board will be going on a one day strike Thursday, January 23rd.
The board says as a result, all elementary schools will be closed. However, all child care centres located in elementary schools will remain open.
It is one of four school boards in the province targeted by the Elementary Teacher’s Federation of Ontario on that day, serving notice to Halton, Niagara and Avon Maitland school boards.
They are one of several teacher’s unions in a contract dispute with the Ford government and who are holding one day strikes. English Catholic teachers across the province will be holding a one day strike on Tuesday.
