Provincial Police seize $150,000 in illegal drugs during traffic stop in Shuniah

Two people from southern Ontario face drug-trafficking charges.

A vehicle was stopped on Highway 11/17 in Shuniah on Saturday at around 1:30 p.m.

During their investigation, Provincial Police discovered about 1.1 kilograms of cocaine and 1,967 oxycodone pills in the vehicle.

Police estimated the street value of the drugs seized to be about $150,000.

A 32-year-old resident of Rama First Nation and a 32-year-old from Pickering were arrested.

They were held in custody and were to make court appearances on Sunday.
