Provincial Funds For Centre Francophone

The province is presenting a $50,000 grant to the Coopérative Centre francophone de Thunder Bay (CFTB) under the Ontario Trillium Foundation
(OTF) Community Development Fund.

The money will help support staff and manage operating costs while offering safe cultural programming both virtual and in-person as well as transportation
services to marginalized people.

“I am pleased to see the Coopérative Center francophone de Thunder Bay Inc. receiving these funds to help services and programs for Francophones and small organizations thrive in our community. As we emerge from this pandemic, it is important to use technology to provide services in person and virtually. Thunder Bay and the region has a proud francophone community. I am delighted to see them supported by this grant!” said Thunder Bay-Superior North MPP Michael Gravelle.

The program invests $105 million towards community organizations in the arts and culture, heritage, tourism, sport and leisure sectors that are under financial pressure due to the pandemic.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
