Province Helps Wisk Air Buy New Helicopter

The Northern Ontario Heritage Fund kicked in a million dollars towards Wisk Air’s new $3 million dollar Bell 412 helicopter.

Wisk Air’s President Mark Wiskemann tells us they used the provincial money to purchase the new chopper in the spring of 2018 and it has been put to good use.

The helicopter has meant the creation of six skilled jobs with Wisk Air.

The aircraft has been used to support electrical powerline development projects, emergency relief services like search and rescue and forest fire fighting.

Minister of Energy, Northern Development and Mines Greg Rickford tells us “supporting charter aviation transportation services to northern communities is crucial to improving the quality of life for northerners.”
