The decision on whether to approve a proposed gravel pit in Gorham Township is now in the hands of the Lakehead Rural Planning Board.
Chair Lucy Kloosterhuis tells us they have a consultant looking at the pros and cons of the idea who will then report back to the board.
She says the board is looking at a number of regulations, and so far she doesn’t see any problems.
On June 7th they hope to arrive at a decision.
There are a number of residents who live in the area of the proposed pit who have objected to it, with much concern over how close it could be to Trout Lake.
