No Formal Measure In Place To Police Ontario Borders

It doesn’t appear the provincial government is looking into policing the Ontario border to ensure residents don’t further the spread of COVID-19 by travelling into other Canadian jurisdictions.

Premier Doug Ford says it’s a massive border.

“It would be really hard to police it, we are asking right now please do not travel. Bottom line, no matter if you are going east or west, I can’t be any more clear than that. The border is absolutely massive,” Ford noted.

The Premier continues to stress it is up to residents to do the right thing and stay at home.

Ford says he has spoken to the premier of Quebec about residents who travel into that province.

There’s been no official order saying Ontario residents can’t travel into Manitoba as well.

“It’s a vast, vast border and we are hoping and praying that people are listening to us. If they don’t have to travel, don’t travel,” Ford added.
