Powlowski Makes It Official In Ottawa

Marcus Powlowski has signed on the dotted line to become the newest local Member of Parliament.

The Thunder Bay Rainy River MP was sworn in yesterday, joined by his family and members of his community.

Powlowski says he has been presented with one of the greatest honours of his life, to represent our community in the House of Commons, a position he does not take lightly.

The MP adds he believes everyone wants safe communities and for politicians to not just say they are listening, but to actually do it.

Powlowski adds he plans to represent everyone, rural and urban, Indigenous and non-Indigenous, natural born and immigrant in a fair way.

He is currently working to hire staff and open his Thunder Bay and Fort Frances offices in the coming weeks.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
