Poverty Reduction Strategy Comes To Council

City Council is going to be briefed about the 2015 Poverty Reduction Strategy on Monday night.

The Lakehead Social Planning Council is behind the report that has four main recommendations.

The first is to support the creation of an effective ID Bank so that people have a safe place to store their identification documents.

The second calls for a better system for youth who are applying for Ontario Works or Disability Support.

The last two recommend a supportive network of housing providers in our city and finally continued financial support from the City, the social services board and other funders of the Lakehead Social Planning Council.
