Update: Water Rescue Unnecessary

A “potential water rescue” in the Neebing-McIntrye River did not turn out quite that way.

A Thunder Bay Fire Rescue official tells us just after 2:30 this afternoon a 9-1-1 call originating from the LCBO in the Thunder Centre reported someone was in the river.

Fire, police and ambulance responded to the call, but when they arrived there was just one wet person in the area but who was out of the water. Police report he was checked out by EMS and taken to hospital as a precaution.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
