PORCH PIRATES.  How can that be a “good news story”.

In Philadelphia, a moment that could’ve turned tense became something unexpectedly awesome.

Bernadette Williams spotted someone trying to steal a package from her neighbor’s porch. But instead of anger, she chose compassion. Her doorbell camera caught her saying, “Put that down.” And then—she did something no one saw coming.

Bernadette reached into her pocket and offered the woman $7…the only cash she had. She told her, “Get some help. You’re better than that. God loves you.”  The woman apologized.

Bernadette says she could see real remorse in her eyes—and she believes that moment might help change a life. After 30 years in her neighborhood, she says it’s simple: “We’re part of this community, and we can make it better.”

A small act of kindness, reminding all of us how powerful – grace can be.
