Police Respond To Mental Health Call

A Thunder Bay Police rescue operation on the city’s northside has finished.

The operation was related to mental health concerns, meaning many details are not being provided because of privacy reasons.

Police went to a building on Cumberland Street around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday and concluded their work at 2:00 a.m. Wednesday.

Police and Fire Services had to block off parts of Park Avenue and Pearl Street, though the area is open now.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
