Update: Police presence near McIvor Court due to homicide investigation

Police in Thunder Bay are investigating a homicide at McIvor Court.

Officers were sent to the area just before 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

When they arrived they found a man with life-threatening injuries and they were transported to a local hospital.

The victim a 34-year-old man from Thunder Bay has since died.

A post-mortem is taking place in Toronto on Friday to shine a light on the cause of death.

Police say a gun was not involved in the incident but some sort of weapon was.

They also do not believe this was a random act of violence, but an altercation between two people that grew violent.

A visible police presence remains in the area.

The Major Crimes and Forensic Identification Units are involved in the ongoing investigation.
