Update: Police charge woman with mischief after car fire at casino

Thunder Bay Police Service (TBPS) and Fire Rescue responded to a call around 5:00 a.m. on Friday, reporting a vehicle on fire at the entrance to the Gateway Casino.

The fire spread to the exterior of the casino building, but the vehicle was towed further away to prevent damage.

An investigation found that a woman entered the vehicle and was the cause of a fire.

The 46-year-old has been charged with two counts of mischief over $5000.

One person was treated by EMS on scene.

The accused appeared in court on Friday.

She is currently in custody and will appear before a court again in the future.

Thunder Bay’s police are currently investigating the scene.
