Police Open Up About Work Life

There’s a new police project aiming to share more information with the public about what local officers deal with on a daily basis.

Spokesperson Chris Adams tells us they hope to post a story a week to social media and their website in their new “From the Frontlines” initiative.

“There was a feeling from our uniformed patrol unit that there was a need to share with the public about what the officers are facing and what they deal with on an average basis on shifts.”

Adams notes the articles will have more information than what normally gets released to the media.

“We are starting to write articles ourselves highlighting some of the work that wouldn’t necessarily end up in media releases.”

He adds many residents don’t realize the stresses they face on a day-to-day basis.

“From the Frontlines” will be an eight-part series showcasing the work and highlighting the challenges for frontline Uniform Patrol Branch officers.

The first four parts will be published throughout November. The remaining four parts will be published in January 2020.
