Thunder Bay police are charging one of their own with drinking and driving.
They allege that a pickup truck owned by the officer crashed into a ditch on Balmoral Street south of Alloy Drive just before 1:30 am on February 2nd. Police say he was off duty at the time. He sustained only minor injuries.
Charged is 32 year old Christopher Toneguzzi. He appears in court on February 27th. They say he will also have to undergo a Police Services Act hearing on the charges.
Constable Toneguzzi has been assigned to desk duty while his case makes it through the court system.
