Police Intervene In Mental Health Crisis

A woman was taken to the hospital after police stepped in during a mental health crisis.

Officers were called to South Syndicate Avenue near the Victoriaville Parkade on Monday morning.

They say social workers were trying to negotiate with a woman who was in distress, and police intervened when she started injuring herself.

Paramedics took her to the Regional Health Sciences Centre with non-life-threatening injuries.
