Police Identify Suspects In Social Media Assault

Charges have been laid by Thunder Bay Police Service (TBPS) against two teenagers after an assault that was caught on camera.

It was shared on social media, police becoming aware of the video on Friday.

It is believed the attack happened near Hammarskjold High School, the video showing a female youth being attacked by two teenagers.

The investigation which included TBPS’s Major Crimes Unit led to two suspects being identified on Tuesday, both being arrested and charged with Assault Causing Bodily Harm.

There names cannot be released because of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The investigation is ongoing.
