City police are reminding you that the speed limit doesn’t increase when the temperatures do.
Police say they issued just over 100 tickets to drivers on Tuesday, mostly for speeding through local school zones. Some drivers clocked in at 80 km/h in a 40 km/h zone.
They say going even 5 kilometres over the limit can mean the difference between a minor collision and one with serious injuries.
They’re reminding you that clear roads aren’t an excuse to drive recklessly, pointing out that some of the most devastating crashes happen on warm days with clear roads.
Police say some drivers claimed they were rushing to get to work while other excuses included not realizing how fast they were going. (File Photo)
Thank you for this @tbpstraffic! Drivers – please SLOW DOWN! #LPStb #tbay https://t.co/374rM9je5W
