Police Break Up Alleged Drug Deal

An alleged drug deal in progress has been broken up by Thunder Bay police.

They tell us it was around 3 o’clock Tuesday morning when police were patrolling the May Street area in the south end, when they noticed five people in an alleyway. Police say it appeared a man tried to throw away what looked like a bag of crack cocaine. He was arrested and charged with drug trafficking.

While that was happening, a woman, also from Thunder Bay, tried to run, but police say they caught her after a brief struggle.

She has been charged with obstructing a police officer and breach of probation.
