Police Board Still Waiting For Vacancy Appointment

Thunder Bay’s Police Services Board is still waiting for a provincial appointee for their board.

Chair Celina Reitberger tells us she’s hopeful the province will have some news for them soon.

“This is definitely front and centre on their agenda, and we just have to wait until they get back into the legislature. We are anticipating some sort of announcement at the end of October.”

The last provincial member was removed in May because of a controversial letter to the editor that resurfaced shortly after his appointment.

The Board has sent another letter to the provincial government inquiring about when they may see a new appointee.
