With the legalization of cannabis less than three months away, Premier Doug Ford says the province is making preparations.
Speaking after the premier’s meeting in New Brunswick, Ford suggested by the time October 17th rolls around, law enforcement concerns will be heard, noting police across the province along with police agencies will be consulted.
The premier adds the number one concern is to educate children and tell them smoking cannabis is not healthy.
Meantime, there’s no consensus from Canada’s premiers on the issue of a carbon tax, but our Premier Doug Ford says that will not stop Ontario from scrapping cap and trade.
Ford acknowledged many of his colleagues aren’t on board with him noting every region is different, he says it’s a promise he made during the election campaign which he intends to keep.
So far only Saskatchewan’s Premier Scott Moe agrees with Ford on scrapping the carbon tax. (File photo)
