Three People Arrested After Drug Raid

Three young people from the Toronto area are facing drug charges after a police raid in the south end.

It was Saturday night when Thunder Bay officers arrived at an address on McTavish Street between McNaughton and Christie Streets to reports of a man possibly in trouble.

Not long after they confirmed he was safe, police say they found three suspects possibly trying to hide or destroy suspected drugs.

During the arrest, one was found to have a weapon. Police also came across more than $5,000 in cash, which officers suspected was obtained by drug trafficking.

Two people in their early 20s are charged, as well as a 17-year-old.

All three appeared in bail court, but remain in custody with future court dates.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
