Pneumonia is now one of the main reasons people visit hospital emergency rooms.
The Canadian Institute for Health Information says there were 135,000 pneumonia-related visits reported across the country over the past year.
That’s a 13% increase over the year before.
Older adults made up approximately 65% of those visits.
