Big trade from the Toronto Blue Jays today. Dealing centre-fielder Kevin Pillar to the San Francisco Giants. Getting Juan De Paula and Derek Law, a couple of right-handed pitchers in return, as well as infielder Alen Hanson.
Thank you for everything, @KPILLAR4. You will always be our Superman. #ManOfSteal pic.twitter.com/Ddlf6PW0Pp

Pillar, who until the trade was the current longest tenured Blue Jay, had been with the club for over six seasons. Pillar is known as “Superman” and “The Man of Steal” for a reason. The dude is a human highlight reel. He just flies to track down the ball. So fun to watch. He’ll definitely be missed. For old time’s sake, check out some of his great catches below.
Fun Fact: Kevin Pillar sharpened his game in the Northwoods League! Playing against our Thunder Bay Border Cats for the pesky Wisconsin Woodchucks! That’s just one of the many great things about Border Cats ball, there’s a good chance you’re watching a future Major Leaguer when you head to Port Arthur Stadium! The Cats get going at the end of May, click here to keep tabs on team news, schedules and all of their great promotions. Two words: Weenie Wednesdays!
