Pension Discussions In Thunder Bay

The province is holding a series of consultation sessions to discuss the design of their new proposed retirement pension plan.

Officials with the Ministry of Finance were in Thunder Bay today at the Valhalla Inn.

They wanted to know if it’s ok to exclude residents with comparable workplace pension, what the plan should look like and how to address the needs of people who are self employed. President of the Chamber of Commerce Charla Robinson says many of the issues brought up will heavily affect small businesses.

Anyone who couldn’t make it in person can send in their written submissions to the Ministry by February 13th.
