PC’s Lay Out Priorities In Throne Speech

The provincial government will lay out it’s priorities before the June 2022 election.

Lieutenant Governor Elizabeth Dowdeswell will deliver the speech from the throne at 9:00 a.m. Monday, which will kick off the next sitting at Queen’s Park.

MPP’s have been on summer break since early June and were supposed to return to Toronto on September 13th but the legislature was prorogued on September 3, citing the federal election and the ability for the governing Progressive Conservatives to better plan it’s fall legislation based on the results of the national vote.

Opposition parties criticized the move to prorogue, adding it was an abdication of responsibility as Ontario dealt with the fourth wave of COVID-19.
