One of the big names dealt today, the NHL Trade Deadline, is Patrick Marleau. The Sharks shipped him to Pittsburgh for a conditional third-round pick in the 2021 draft. Or, if the Penguins with the Stanley Cup this season, San Jose will get Pitt’s second-round pick in the draft instead. Marleau, was drafted 2nd overall back in 1997 by the Sharks. He returned to the team this year after a stint with the Leafs and this deal sounds like the team, who are struggling this season, trying to help Patrick get on a contender.
"Although we have had a disappointing season in San Jose, he deserves every opportunity to have a chance at winning a Stanley Cup, and we're happy to help accommodate that. We wish him the best of luck." – #SJSharks GM Doug Wilson

Mrs. Marleau is having some fun with the news. Christina took to her Twitter to let everybody know that growing up, her hubby’s favourite team was the Penguins and she’s got pics! Check it out below (click the Tweets to see the shirts,) and check out that sweet school photo background! I appreciate the fact that Christina can splash old pics of her spouse on social media. I know if I tried to post a pic without my wife’s permission, I’d better have full hockey equipment on when she caught up with me!
