Pandemic Response Update From Thunder Bay Regional

The Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre is adapting it’s Internal Pandemic Responsive Level from Green (Recover and Prevent) to Yellow (Protect).

In an email to Acadia News Friday, spokesperson Marcello Bernardo said the move signifies an emphasis on caution and no changes to protocol are required at this time, however the departments are on alert if the situation should require additional actions.

The hospital is only treating one patient for COVID-19 heading into the weekend.

When it comes to vaccinations, 96.2 percent of TBRHSC staff are fully vaccinated, and unvaccinated staff are being encouraged to receive both doses.

There’s also an on-site clinic set up to provide a third dose (or booster shot) to hospital staff.
