Pandemic Fails To Stifle Shipping

People who work to ensure the Port of Thunder Bay keeps running smoothly are getting a nod of recognition from its Chief Executive Officer.

Tim Heney tells us those working the railways, grain elevators, inspectors and those working on the sea are handling a rise in trade through Thunder Bay in spite of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The demand for Canadian grain in Europe and North Africa has resulted in shipments through Thunder Bay nearly doubling for the last week of April when compared to the same time last year.

The port adds some countries have scaled back on exports, with Canada picking up the slack.
