Total cargo shipments through the Port of Thunder Bay are down from this time last year,
Figures show that there were 5.3 million tonnes shipped until the end of September compared to 5.5 million tonnes for the same period last year.
A drop in grain, potash and dry bulk shipments accounted for the slight loss.
There have also been fewer ships visiting the port so far this year compared to last.
September, however, saw the most cargo shipped through the port in 20 years.
