Outdoor Recreation Could Return Before June 2

A hint from Ontario’s Minister of Health that certain outdoor recreation could be back open soon.

Christine Elliott said during Question Period Monday that the province still believes it would be irresponsible to re-open opportunities such as team sports and golf with case counts still high however she added that some activities could be made available before the expiry of the current stay-at-home order.

The words of the Minister also came as the NDP’s motion calling for the re-opening of outdoor facilities was defeated 63-21.

In a separate announcement over the weekend, Premier Doug Ford indicated summer camps would be permitted to open in 2021, though he did not provide any additional details.

In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
