That threshold has led to the outbreak declaration by the Thunder Bay District Health Unit, in partnership with Lakehead Public Schools.
The investigation has shown that at least one of the individuals likely acquired the virus in the school setting.
Other high-risk contacts will be contacted by public health and impacted classes and cohorts have been dismissed.
