OPP lay charge in fatal snowmobile collision near Nipigon

The Nipigon OPP have laid a charge in connection to a snowmobile death last month.

On Tuesday, March 17th around 7 am a youth from Lake Helen First Nation was pronounced dead after a snowmachine collision along Highway 11/17 near Settlers Road.

Police say the youth was operating the snowmobile at the time.

As a result of their investigation the OPP have charged a 36-year-old from Nipigon with Criminal Negligence Causing Death.

The accused is due to appear in Thunder Bay Court at a later date.
