Working the phones to bring back more staff in time to re-open Superior Shores Gaming.
The facility at 435 Memorial Avenue has been closed to in-person gaming with the province re-implementing restrictions seen in Step 2 of the Roadmap to Reopen plan on January 5th.
General Manager Joe Brizard told Acadia News that there have been workers on handle curbside pickup of bingo cards for the Tuesday night games.
“We also had other staff who were actually cleaning the facility completely,” added Brizard. “Once that was done, there wasn’t really anything else for the staff to do while they were here. Thank god it was only for a few weeks.”
Ontario is gradually re-opening indoor facilities as of Monday, January 31st at 50 per cent capacity.
“Pretty difficult for them now, being shut down so many times because they weren’t able to raise their funds through us,” noted Brizard about the charities that benefit from Superior Shores Gaming. “Now being able to open, we’ll able to have everything available to the customer including lottery sales, bingo games, cabinet games and the concessions.”
Over 80 charities are being supported by Superior Shores Gaming.
