After whirlwind day of meetings with politicians at Queen’s Park, the president of the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce is back home.
Charla Robinson tells us it was a gathering of Ontario chambers who want the political parties to think about business issues during the provincial election campaign.
Robinson feels it was important for her to be there because northern business issues are unique from those in the south.
The chamber presidents sites as an example, the provincial government’s apprentice system is getting panned by the president of the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce.
She tells us the current system of trades training doesn’t work very well in small and northern communities because the way the ratios are set up, businesses find it difficult to get enough people trained here to meet the demands. (File photo)
