Bill Mauro says Ontario wants to break down the barriers with Grassy Narrows First Nation.
The community is known for protesting industrial logging on the Whiskey Jack Forest, which are traditional lands.
Mauro, the Minister of Natural Resources, says it’s time to turn the page. He notes on the Whisky Jack Forest to date, there are already a significant number of First Nation businesses that are creating employment, adding he knows Grassy Narrows wants the same economic opportunities for their community.
The First Nation has run a blockade to the forest for over 10 years. (File photo)
