On This Date: The Titanic Sank – And a History Buff Called Country 105 to Share What He Learned

Today – April 15th – marks one of the most unforgettable moments in history. At 2:20 a.m. on April 15, 1912, the RMS Titanic slipped beneath the surface of the North Atlantic, just hours after striking an iceberg late on the night of April 14.

More than a century later, people are still fascinated by what happened, and this morning on the show, one of our callers reminded us why.

He shared something he learned about why the Titanic sank the way it did.
