September 14, 1929- April 5, 2026
With deep sadness we announce the passing of Ralph Gallant on April 5, 2026.
He was a loving husband, dad, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He was born on September 14, 1929, in Campbellton, New Brunswick and headed to Ontario as a young man to find work. One such job landed him in Caramat, Ontario at a bush camp as their Company Clerk. It was there that he met and fell in love with his life partner of 68 years, our mom.
He was from the East coast, and she was from the West. He introduced her to lobster and she being Finn, introduced him to the sauna. This suited them perfectly.
He held many achievements throughout the years and with his entrepreneur spirit started his own tire business, Giant Tire Sales and Giant Bandag.
He loved the outdoors from a young age where he had the freedom to explore and experience it fully. He also loved the open road which took us as a family on many fun adventures.
He was a quiet, reflective man. A kind and generous man along with a great sense of humour. A man of great integrity and a man of deep faith and was a long-standing member of Corpus Christi Church.
Ralph is survived by and loving held in the hearts of his children Kim (Gerry Margarit), Kelly (George Ward), Ray (Cindy Morellato), grandchildren Laura Shott (Damon Alexander), DJ Shott (Kathleen Romanson), Chrisitan Ward (Britney Duchesne), step grandchildren Valarie Margarit (Walter Turek) and Robin Margarit (James Durant) and the Greats Calvin and Avery Shott.
Ralph was predeceased by his wife Celia, his parents Laura and Randolph Gallant and great-granddaughter Rebecca Rae-Lynn Gallant and numerous in-laws.
A mass will be held for Ralph Gallant at Corpus Christi Church with a reception held downstairs afterwards at a later date.
If friends desire, memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
The family would like to thank the 3rd floor at Lakehead Manor where dad resided for the last 9 months for all their care and help, and to Jasper Place where dad resided for 5 years prior. He had a sense of community amongst the other residents and from the staff who went over and above and to one PSW in particular- Laura. Thank you all, we are forever grateful. Online condolences can be made at www.sargentandson.com.
One day at a time.
