Michele Beaucage

November 18, 1960 – October 23, 2026

It is with great sadness that the family of Michele Beaucage announces her passing, with family by her side, at the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital on Friday, October 23, 2026. As a family, we take comfort in knowing that Michele was greeted with open arms by Mommy and Daddy.

Michele was a resident of Community Living Thunder Bay for many years, where she received tremendous care and support. During those years, Michele made many friends and developed special bonds with the people who supported her and became an important part of her life.

Those who knew Michele well understood just how special she was. She loved to laugh and sing, and when she was upset, she had no trouble letting you know with a stern word or two! Michele had her favourite television programs and rarely tired of watching shows involving police, whom she affectionately called “Beema,” along with WWF wrestling and The King of Queens. At Christmastime, Home Alone was a favourite, and Michele could often be counted on to serenade the room with her own special rendition of “The Little Drummer Boy,” “Jingle Bells”, “Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer”, and “Frosty The Snowman”.

Michele especially looked forward to her weekly shopping outings. She loved buying her books and made certain that no one forgot when shopping day was approaching. She also loved receiving “money” for those shopping trips and would carefully guard whatever amount she had been given.

Despite the physical challenges she faced, Michele was provided with a life filled with opportunities, experiences and friendships. The staff at Community Living Thunder Bay helped ensure that she could take part in many social activities, including bowling, parties, walks at the marina, numerous road trips and camping at the KOA, to name just a few. These experiences, and the people who shared them with her, brought much enjoyment to Michele’s life.

Michele was predeceased by her loving parents, Irma and John “Jack” Beaucage.

She is survived by her siblings, Dwight (Evelyn) of Bowmanville, Dale, Norina Soptiuck (Steven) of Pinewood, Bill (Marlo) of Shuniah, and Nadine Wood (Dave) of Kitchener.

Michele is also lovingly remembered by her 10 nieces and nephews: Danielle, Stephanie, Michael, Peter-John, Zachary, Steven, Brittany, Kallem, Brysen and Rachel; and her eight great-nieces and great-nephews: Quinn, Wesley, Hudson, Maya, Anabelle, Camryn, Juliette and Charlie.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the countless doctors and nurses at Thunder Bay Regional Hospital who cared for Michele in various hospital wards over the years, helping her through many difficult times and bringing her back to health on numerous occasions. We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff in the Emergency/Trauma Room for the exceptional care and compassion they showed Michele during her final hours.

Words cannot adequately express the family’s gratitude to the staff at Community Living Thunder Bay. To Kelly H., Jashanpreet S., Nidhin J., Jasleen K., Neeraj S., Joe J., Mohammed K., Christy C., Tina U., Daniel M., Shilpa S., Samantha O., Sandra C., Ken M., Jennifer A., and Kasia P. : your ongoing care, compassion and dedication to Michele was truly outstanding. Thank you for everything you did for our sister over the years. Your kindness and commitment will never be forgotten.

Michele also shared very special bonds with her friends Barb M., Andre Q., Marlene I., Doug W. and Karen S., as well as her current roommates, Jamie C., Jordan M., Brenda N. and Theresa T. Thank you for your friendship, companionship and for being an important part of Michele’s life.

Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at St. Andrew’s Cemetery on Wednesday, November 4, at 11:00 a.m. for family and friends who wish to attend. Following the internment, family and friends will gather at the Hyatt House Hotel on Oliver Road.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Community Living Thunder Bay Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.  You may donate online at https://www.cltb.ca/donate/, by mail, or in person.

Arrangements have been entrusted to EVEREST WAVERLEY CHAPEL, 299 Waverley Street at Algoma. Please sign the online condolences at everestofthunderbay.com
